Utah's Library for the Blind and Disabled can provide a broader range of services than the Alaska Talking Book Center, including:
New Resource for Talking Books
Starting July 1st, our the Alaska State Library's Talking Book Center will be partnering with the Utah State Library for the Blind and Disabled to provide library service to Alaskans who have a visual or physical disability that prevents them from reading standard print.
This service is totally free for patrons.
Alaska patrons will call the Utah State Library to request digital, cassette, Braille, and large print materials, and to request help with the BARD download system.
The Alaska State Library will continue to provide patrons with the equipment they need to listen to these audiobooks.
The Alaska Talking Book Center will continue to process applications from new library patrons.
